FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions for Website Design and Search Engine Optimization to Rank on Google, Yahoo and MSN

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much does a website cost? [back to top]

The cost of a website is largely dependent upon how long it takes us to build the web site. Factors which affect cost are the number of pages, the extent of the graphic design required, flash animation, user interactive forms, a content management system (CMS) and in the case of on online store the number of products. There are many more factors to price than we have room to list here. This is why it is crucial that we understand your design requirements up front in order to give you the most accurate quote. Most of the websites we develop fall into one of the following two categories:

Template Based Designs:

Template based designs are typically cheaper and faster to build because we start from an existing website template and make what are often minor changes to images and text but the basic layout and design stays the same. Our template based sites usually range anywhere from $1249 to $2000 depending upon the extent of the customizations.

Custom Web Designs:

Custom web designs are typically more expensive and time consuming to build because we start from scratch and spend time to work with you one-on-one to actually design the look and feel of your website as apposed to just modifying an existing template design. Our custom designed sites start at $2000 and go up depending upon the size of the project. Any Custom databases, shopping carts or graphic design additions will increase the cost of a website, we will work hard to give you an accurate estimate based on what you require.

If you charge hourly, how will I know how much my web site will cost? [back to top]

We will provide you a good faith estimate up front, based off of your initial requirements, that will give a high and low price range. Under no condition will we exceed the high estimate without your permission. The primary reason for a price increase is usually due to the Client changing their requirements after the initial quote has been written. This is why we require all of the content, images and site requirements up front before we get started on the web site to help avoid surprises down the road. We are more than willing to working with changing requirements but just be aware that there will be an increase in cost if this happens. We've found that time spent planning the website up front almost always translates to savings down the road.

How do I know I will like the website you design? [back to top]

We will meet with you personally to discuss design ideas and color schemes before we start building your website. We also consider other sites you like and can integrate design elements from these other websites into your own. With this information we will create a “concept” page which is essentially a mock-up of your homepage that will also serve as a template for all of the other pages on your website. Once you are happy with your “concept” page we will proceed to code the entire site as HTML. We allow for a reasonable number of small changes between the initial coding of the site as HTML and the time the site goes live. We realize that no one get's it perfect the first time and this is factored into our initial quote. We are happy to make more extensive changes at our standard hourly rate of $125 per hour.

Who maintains the website when it is done? [back to top]

Our websites are built with a budget in mind for small business owners that wish to have an affordable alternative to the high priced websites that cost $6,000 to $8,000 or more.  We offer Value, Standard, and Complete packages with a low cost of entry and small monthly hosting packages.   Our packages come with a basic maintenance package of 30 minutes per month which can be used for adding small pictures and basic text changes. *(Maintenance does not roll over and must be used each calendar month) Additoinal maintanance can be purchased at $125 per hour.

How frequently should I update my site? [back to top]

The more frequently you update your site the more credibility you will have with your returning customers. When a website is kept fresh it is often viewed as a good resource for current information and keeps customers returning again and again. Updating your site frequently often also helps with Search Engine Optimization.
